Our mission at Arkansas Youth Adventures is to get Arkansas' youth and young adults back to their roots by way of environmental education and outdoor recreation.
About us
Based out of the War Eagle River Valley, Arkansas Youth Adventures is a sleep away traveling camp that offers guided trips throughout the spring, summer, and fall for boys and girls ages 10-17.
What to Expect
After meeting with the staff on pick up day campers make their way around the beautiful Ozark Plataea to some of the nations most renowned and scenic areas. While participants float some of the beautiful rivers in Arkansas, they learn and practice Leave No Trace ethics, discuss environmental science, learn about the areas geological and natural history, and engage in hands on lessons including biological water quality monitoring.
Learning experience
Campers are also involved in meal preparation and introduced to back country trip planning in order to gain leadership qualities practical in their everyday lives. In the days following, campers will find themselves backpacking on one of the many trails sprawling across the Ozark Plateau.
Qualified Leadership
Arkansas Youth Adventures has an instructor to participant ratio of at least one to three to promote an inclusive community. The Arkansas Youth Adventures staff also finds small group sizes beneficial for minimising impact in back country settings and keeping group morale high. Campers go home with a wealth of knowledge and appreciation of the pristine wilderness Arkansas has to offer. Look around on our site for more explanation of trip itineraries. The Arkansas Youth Adventures staff can not wait meet parents and guide their young ones on a journey to remember soon!
